As an MRes Screenwriting student at the University of York, I am deeply immersed in the world of storytelling and creative expression. My academic journey is complimented by my role as a freelance blogger and creative writer affiliated with the International Association of Professional Editors & Writers. This dual pursuit has allowed me to refine my writing skills and gain a broader perspective on the craft. I'm constantly seeking new knowledge in ways to infiltrate the creative writing industry I'm passionate about and as such engage with online learning; studying courses in Copywriting and Marketing.

 

In parallel, my extensive experience in hospitality and tourism over the past four years has endowed me with invaluable lessons in teamwork, leadership, and the art of meeting specific requirements to ensure exceptional guest experiences. This background has not only honed my adaptability but also showcased my ability to thrive in diverse work environments.

 

Additionally, I bring proficiency in social media marketing, along with video and sound editing expertise. These skills have enabled me to engage with audiences in innovative ways, further enhancing my storytelling abilities.

 

Drawing from my involvement in theatre-based extracurriculars and my time in the hospitality industry, I am a dedicated and hardworking Masters student with a demonstrated aptitude for teamwork and leadership. My experience in high-pressure, fast-paced environments such as bars and kitchens has sharpened my ability to deliver high-quality work within tight timeframes.

 

My writing primarily takes the form of television specs and screenplays, reflecting my passion for crafting narratives. I hold a particular fascination for queer speculative history and the intricacies of the horror genre, areas in which I delve deep to bring fresh and thought-provoking perspectives to my work.

 

Alternatively, my blogging work has me engaging with analyses of various aspects of pop culture including but not limited to horror media and queer representation.
